Five Generations of Winegrowers in Baroville

Champagne Philippe Fourrier

Since 1847

Champagne Philippe Fourrier estate finds its roots in the heart of the Côte des Bar, in Aube, to the south of Champagne. Founded in 1847 and passed down through five generations, the family estate now crafts its cuvées in Baroville as an NM producer.

A family story

Philippe & Julien Fourrier

Philippe Fourrier, heir to a long line of winegrowers, took his first steps in the vineyards in the 1950s and made his first harvest in 1979. He has since gradually entrusted the future of this Champagne estate to the next generation.

Today, his son Julien, our cellar master and head of production, creates cuvées that highlight the characteristics of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar, the rarity of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Meunier, as well as the remarkable qualities of Chardonnay. Expert and rigorous, Julien shares his passion for Champagne with every visitor.

Each bottle tells the story of our Côte des Bar terroir, our grape varieties and the work of the family. We invite you to share it, to savour every expression and to celebrate each moment with a glass of Champagne Philippe Fourrier. Cheers!

Commitment

Respect for the environment

Champagne Philippe Fourrier estate has pursued environmentally responsible practices for several years, particularly through sustainable viticulture.

The High Environmental Value (HVE) certification that we hold is a voluntary approach which aims to identify and promote environmentally friendly practices.

Over the generations, we have introduced several measures in the vineyard: spreading bark and compost, grassing between the vine rows and tillage.

Terroir

The wealth of our vineyard

Our vineyard is extraordinarily rich. It brings together the three main grape varieties of Champagne, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, as well as the very rare Pinot Blanc, spread over 25 hectares, on the slopes of the natural amphitheater of the village of Baroville, with exposures ranging from south to west.

With this rich vineyard, Julien Fourrier crafts both blended cuvées and cuvées made from a single grape variety. He selects the plots, balances reserve wines and dosage, and identifies the finest vintage years, to reveal the distinctive character of every wine: the deep colour of the Rosé de Saignée, the balance of the Extra Brut dosage of the Grande Cuvée Intimiste, the unique aromatic expression of Pinot Blanc.
